1) I am patiently waiting for my new stroller to arrive. The Britax Vigour. It is supposed to come today. Where is that darn UPS guy. Yes, I should be walking everythere right now, but I cannot walk with a tot if I don't have a stroller now can I?
2) I seriously think Jelly Belly's may be the death of me. I eat way to many and not just when I am pregnant either. Mike is planning a trip (for someday) to their factory in CA, becuase I am really that interested in them.
3) I have an induction date set for February 16th, somewhat tentative of course. It's elective. At first I wasn't going to tell people I was set for that date, because I knew with it being elective I would get slack for it, but then I decided, what the heck, its my choice and I guess I don't really care if you like it. Of course I hope to go before then.
4) Me and 2 of my SIL's are all pregnant at the same time. It's pretty cool. What is even better, I am the first one to deliver : )
5) Jamba Juice just came out with organic steel cut oatmeal and it is amazing! Of course his boss can't eat it because he is on a "diet." I'm sorry but when is it bad to eat steel cut oats on a diet. Oh! Yeah, if you are doing a low-carb diet. Doesn't everyone know by now that those diets help you lose weight short term (think beach vacation), but do nothing for you over time? Come on America. Let's just eat everything in moderation and get off our butt every once in a while. Drives me nuts!
6) So annoyed that The Office is having so many re-runs lately.
7) I am currently reading "Endurance: Shackelton's Incredible Voyage" with my husband at night.
8) Lacey has all 4 of her first set of molars! Woohoo!
9) We are moving to MN at the end of February. The cold will most likely put me into shock!

Stranger Anxiety...FINALLY!!
Lacey is about the friendliest tot I have ever met. Maybe I am a bit partial, because she is my child and all, but she has never once been scared of anyone, refused to go to anyone, or had the slightest problem with me leaving her places.
Until today.
I must admit I was getting a little bit annoyed because she would smile at the creepiest men in stores and then of course they would come over and talk to her and I. I hated it and thought on more than one occasion what is wrong with her? Why can't she be more cautious around strangers.
But then today she SCREAMED when we were trying to get into the elevator with a weirdo man. I mean, she just did NOT want to get in there. So I picked her up and she buried her head in my shoulder and refused to look at the guy and whimpered until the elevator ride was over.
I was THRILLED...I know, not something you would typically be thrilled about, but at least I know she's got some discretion!.

6 Days
The way I see it, is this little one should arrive in 6 days. Why?
Well, I only have 6 prenatal vitamins left, and you can all be sure that I am not buying another bottle! Plus I will be past "full-term" status so the baby can come anytime.
But let's all be honest. They say that most babies arrive between 36-41 weeks, but I will most likely not be one of them. The sooner I realize that early babies happen to other people, and not me, the more content I will be.
I still refuse to buy more prenatals though.

I'm Ready!
There comes a time when you are expecting a baby when you are finally ready to meet him or her. I don't mean the feeling of "I am so ready to be done with this" but rather, the feeling of peace, you are more relaxed and excited than nervous or scared. Everything is set, clothes are washed, diapers are bought, bottles/paci's are sterilized, and now you just get to wait.
I am so there.
Up until about 2 days ago I was in constant freak out mode. Two weekends ago we moved from one condo to another. That was major stress since I was doing a lot of the moving of random things while my husband was working. Then promptly after we got moved, Lacey came down with what I think was the flu. Sick for 6 straight days. She was up for 3-4 hours every single night for a week, and I was seriously questioning my ability to parent one, let alone TWO children. I was a mess, I really didn't think I'd be able to do it.
Finally her sickness passed, and while our lives are still currently in a state of limbo, I can finally begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am ready. I am excited. Yes, I am still nervous, what will my life be like? But I am taking it one day at a time and doing my best to enjoy these last couple of pregnant weeks.
And I know that the baby is arriving soon because I (gasped) shaved my legs today! Being that it I am 9 months pregnant and it is winter, I can't say this is the first thing on my mind, but I had the urge. I felt like it needed to get done...NOW. Maybe that is real nesting. Who knows, but now I am officially ready!

Got Sleep?
We don't, not in this house!
The stress is taking its toll on everyone, and that means Lacey as well. After a couple of nights of not sleeping well, due to being in a new place, she came down with a fever. I am guessing it was some sort of virus she picked up somewhere. I couldn't find my thermometer (mom of the year), but she was HOT. She didn't eat more than a few bites a day for 4 days straight, but would thankfully drink liquids (no, I never took her in to the doctor...mom of the year x2). Finally Sunday afternoon her fever broke, but she woke up monday morning with a full blown cold. Lovely. Now we are dealing with that, but at least she is somewhat happy again. It was quite possibly one of the longest weeks of my life with a baby thus far.
For more good news....I have been getting up no less than EIGHT times a night to use the bathroom. So not fun. Maybe that means that this baby has dropped. One can only hope! I will find out today at my OB appointment where I get to have my first internal. I hate internals. Anyone else think they hurt SO bad? The only time I didn't mind them was when I was drugged up and numb on the epidural with Lacey. I know, I know....you don't HAVE to have them, but who doesn't like hearing that they are 80% effaced or something? At this point of the pregnancy game, any news is a thread of hope to hold on to and I will take it. Pain and all.
I keep praying my water will break this week, but as my Sister in law (lovingly) pointed out, that only happens in about 5% of births. So most likely, I'll beg her to sweep my membranes and come home put lacey to bed and sit in front of the TV with a salad, red raspberry leaf tea, and jelly belly's (my ultimate weakness) and pray that my child will sleep through the night for the first time in over a week and that I only have to get up 6 times tonight...

Livin' the Ghetto life.
I made mac and cheese in a 10" omelet pan today.
Do I really need to say more?
The joys of packing and moving!

What I wish someone would have told me about staying home...
1) Routine, routine, routine. Especially with a little one. Everyday is the same, yet somehow surprisingly different.
2) The 'no TV until 2' rule, probably won't work. It certainly won't work when you are having one of those days.
3) It is not a 'career change' staying at home is a 'LIFE change' I wish someone would have told me that and I could have been more prepared.
4) I didn't know that going to Target could be the absolute best part of my day.
5) Forget balanced meals. Breakfast is usually coffee and whatever Lacey didn't eat...
6) Babies are rather boring. Please don't get me wrong, babies are a miracle, but they can also be boring.
7) You may LIVE for a long hot shower.
8) If you sit down at the computer for 5 minutes, it can easily become an hour.
9) Long naps = happy mommy. Short naps = crabby mommy.
10) Days get long, dishes pile high, house is usually cluttered, and at the end of the day you are exhausted, but feel good because you made it through another day and are content and happy.

15 Months
2 Days Early but who cares right? I am thinking about it now, and her appointment isn't until the 23rd (!!), so here it goes...
At 15 months...
Lacey is a BIG helper. She wants to do almost everything I do. She can put her clothes away, retrieve socks or lotion for me, throw away diapers or other garbage, put away toys etc. Its fun having a little helper.
She loves walking around with a Starbucks cup pretending to drink coffee. My kind of girl.
She is FINALLY sleeping without her Pekemoe Sack. That was a long time coming, but its so nice to not have to think about it anymore!
Favorite Foods are: peas, carrots, green beans, any fruit, oatmeal, pancakes, life cereal, cheese, and milk. She would live off of milk if I let her...
Dislikes: eggs and any sort of meat
Teeth: 8
Naps: once a day for about 2 hours. Goes to bed at 7:30 and is up at 7:15.
Still in size 4 diapers and we have lots of growing room
Wears 12-18 month clothing. Still has a few 6-12 month stuff that somehow fits her, and has a few 18-24 month stuff that also fits her.
Words: she talks a lot, her favorite/most used words right now are: light, mama, dada, baby, bye bye, hi, bunny, dog, more, hat, sock, shoe, eye, nose, milk, and the ever famous "no" We have been working on please for a long time (signing it and saying it) but she looks at me and says no when i try to get her to do it....sigh...
She copies everything we do. (For example, Mike was picking up a heavy box the other day and was grunting while he picked it up. She picks up a toy and grunts while picking it up).
She still has ZERO concept that there is a baby in my belly.

Resolution
Not much for new year's resolutions, but there was one that instantly came to my mind...
In 2009 I resolve NOT to get pregnant.
