28 Weeks

Here is Lacey at 28 weeks...almost 7 months. So cliche but i am going to say it anyway...I can't belive how fast time has gone.

At 7 months Lacey can...

...roll across the room in a flash to get to an object she wants. This in particular makes me VERY happy that we do not have stairs in our condo.

...she can almost sit up without support, well, she can but she gets so excited about what is going on around her that she topples quickly.

...she is FINALLY on a nap schedule. This happened on her own literally in the last week. She goes to bed at 8:00. Sleeps til 5:15 ish...eats 4oz; sleeps til 7:30; eats at 8:00 naps from 10-12; eats at 12:00, naps from 2-4, eats at 4:00; and then we keep her up until 8:00 when she goes to bed. It's wonderful.

...she starts to whine if she is playing and then sees me walk by. Whines until I pick her up.

...eats tons of fruits and veggies. Dad makes her some crazy combinations and she seems to love them all. We are in desprate need of a high-chair though. Right now we are using a bumbo seat but that is NOT working. I am picky and want the tripp tropp chair in espresso.

...still no teeth, and we *thought* she was teething months ago..haha

...still will not hold her bottle. she will hold a sippy cup but when she sees her bottle her mouth just opens wide and she waits until something goes in it.

I am anticipating her getting up on her hands and knees soon. Crawling is right around the corner?!

well, i'm glad that's over.

i have decided that i do not want to move across the country ever again. all in all it wasn't terrible but it was long and too adventurous. We made it safe and sound, after getting into an accident near Billings, MT. We jack-knifed our car with our trailer on a bridge. We ended up totaling our car and destroying the trailer. U-haul gave us a replacement truck and a trailer to pull our car for no extra charge (pictures below). Lacey did okay, although she was sleep deprived and a little grouchy (weren't we all). I think she was the happiest of the three of us to finally get here. Here are some pics..unfortunately they are in random order. The mountains are Washington. The snow picture is idaho. The icy roads are in MT by our accident. The other ones are ND and then some random ones of us along the way.

today

last day in minnesota. i am beyond excited.

lets just hope the rest of the day goes better than this morning. actually it wasn't terrible, but the moment i got to work i looked in my bag and realized i accidentally took mike's keys (and mine) so he had to borrow dana's CARGO VAN and come down to my work and pick them up for me, because there is no way on this planet that you can load a vehicle and trailer without keys! mike beat traffic though, i forced him to leave the house immediately because if you don't cross the river by 7:15 a.m., than lets face it....it will take you 45 minutes to go like 2 miles. He made it though...

on another note most people don't really understand why we just decided to move 'for the heck of it' but i will say that so far 2 people at my work have told me they have done this multiple times in their life...pick up and move somewhere randomly...just for a change of pace. i think that more people need a little excitement like that in their life...because lets be honest, i have never met anyone who regrets it. maybe its not for everyone, and that's understandable (although, i can't say i understand it...).

anyway, probably can't post anything while i am on the move so it may be about a week before i get out there and get an internet connection up and running. i'll try to take lots of "moving" pictures to post. hopefully we don't have too many outrageous adventures...i just want things to go smoothly. and if you think about it, say a prayer for lacey, because it might be the longest car ride of her life :)

She is my cutie

She is my sweetheart, but she just woke up from her very short nap.

Ode to Minneapolis

Minneapolis has been my home since 2001. I went to college here, I met my best friend(s) here, I met my husband here, I got married here, I had a baby here, I got my first "real" job here, and tomorrow I will be leaving.

I will miss the city. We have some BEAUTIFUL lakes right in the middle of the city that you can run and bike around. The downtown is beautiful and I loved living in the middle of it all. I am a big fan of the Minnesota Twins and they will not be replace by the Mariners (although the Vikings may be replaced...). We will miss friends, families, and co-workers. I look at this city as my "transition" place. It is where I left my pre-college days behind and where I settled until I was ready for a new experience.

We are ready, we are excited. Let the adventure begin! (okay, cheesy i know!)

counting down.

5 days.

we are out of here in 5 short days and neither mike and i can't wait!

First, don't be offended by our excitement. We will obviously miss our friends a lot. Mom and Dad, Mike, Lydia, and Baby we will miss you too. But in short...we can't wait to 'fly the coop.'

mike and i need to do this, so here is my warning* Please don't CONTINUE to ask us "why seattle?" "what do your parents think?" or "do you have a place to live?" we don't know why we chose seattle...we just did, its a big country. MY parents are supportive. and of course we have a place to live...do you think we are crazy?

I am sorry but i just have to vent a little because we get so much pressure from *certain* individuals about whether what we are doing is the right thing. But I just need to tell others to stop all their fanatical worrying and just be happy for mike, lacey, and i.

and the countdown begins.
